Stanley J. Sarnoff Spirit Award

Dr. Myron ("Mike") L. Weisfeldt was honored as the first recipient of the Stanley J. Sarnoff Spirit Award at the 31st Annual Scientific Meeting. Dr. Weisfeldt has provided three decades of extraordinary service to the Foundation, beginning with his role as the "prototype" inspiration to Dr. Sarnoff to create the Sarnoff Fellowship. He has selflessly given countless hours of service and expertise as an active member of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Dr. Weisfeldt's efforts have inspired Fellows, colleagues and friends creating the "ripple effect" among the Sarnoff community that will further the vision of Dr. Sarnoff for generations to come.

The Stanley J. Sarnoff Spirit Award was established in 2011 to recognize the long history of volunteer service by Dr. Weisfeldt, on the occasion of his retirement from the Sarnoff Board of Directors. The award will be given annually to honor an individual for their commitment and dedication as demonstrated by their contributions of time, energy and expertise in support of the Sarnoff Fellowship Program, the Sarnoff Society of Alumni and/or the advancement of the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation's mission.
